B•MHE was founded to address the dramatic business process redesign and patient-focused care efforts that hospitals were struggling to accomplish in the early 1990s. These efforts involved changes in process, staff and physician behavior, policy, management, strategy, and technology. The magnitude of change required was significant, and a majority of efforts resulted in sub-optimal implementation successes.
In many cases, hospitals could not independently maintain the magnitude and pace of change. They did not have either the staff or access to the expensive outside consulting services required for full implementation and follow-up. They often needed an objective and focused change agent to direct the roll-out of new processes and systems.
At B•MHE, we saw this as an opportunity to serve as a change agent, helping our clients overcome the obstacles to process improvement and quality customer service.
Today, there are continual changes in medicine, technology, clinical practice, and legislation that affect all healthcare organizations. These changes are presenting at a much faster pace than they did 20 years ago. In response, we have become a company of executives, managers, nurses, and physicians who are focused on helping our clients manage the ‘Momentum of Change’ for their organizations.
